Setting the standard

for

Aerial Shooters

Our objectiles

  1. To establish a management committee to oversee the conduct of the organisation,
  2. To represent and advocate for private sector operators providing feral animal aerial shooting services,
  3. To establish an industry standard that will be expected of operators to hold membership,
  4. To provide confidence to end users that membership is an advocate for quality and safe service,
  5. To maintain a safe, legal and humane feral animal aerial control industry,
  6. To develop and deliver an industry training program to accredit aerial shooters that meets the specific and dynamic needs for private sector operators,
  7. To maintain a team of suitably skilled Aerial Shooters to assist government and non-government organisation's in response to Biosecurity emergencies and control programs.

Our mission

To establish an industry association that is an advocate for leadership, best practices and endorsement for only the very best of operators.

The association will advocate for the use of its members across all industry sectors, be it public or private and establish itself as the filtering tool for end users to choose operators for their operational requirements.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

USING PRIVATE INDUSTRY OPERATORS?

  1. It allows the limited resources of Government agencies to be re-allocated and focused where services cannot be performed by the private industry.
  2. It provides for fixed cost operations.
  3. There are no ongoing costs for the training of staff and maintenance of equipment.
  4. Government agencies competing with the private sector directly undermines its viability and is inconsistent with wider Government policies to support the private sector.
  5. Removes the chance for conflict of interests to regulatory agencies who are responsible for enforcing Biosecurity legislation.
  6. Using private operators makes available optional protections to Government agencies through non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements that can be beneficial for sensitive and critical work programs.
  7. Private contractors carry their own public liability insurance which distances Government agencies from potential liabilities.
  8. A strong private sector builds capacity and resilience in communities for the long-term control of invasive species.
